CONCERNING FLAG COLOR: Our Gadsden Flags are a golden color. Depending upon your computer, colors may appear differently. Many of the popular Gadsden Flags that you see are bright yellow. The color of our Gadsden Flag is slightly different. With historical flags, there is no official design or color as there is with the modern American Flag, State Flag, City Flag, etc. There was no specific design or central manufacturing in the 1700's. Before we produce historical flags, we consult with flag experts in the field of vexillology. We try to produce a flag that is as authentic as possible. Often, a flag had many different versions. For example, the Sons of Liberty flag we sell, has red and white narrow horizontal stripes. In the 1700's, this flag also appeared with wide vertical stripes and in green stripes. The Culpeper Flag design or image was found in the pocket of a Culpeper militia man. The historical flags that we sell are made in the USA by flag manufacturers that have been in business over 150 years.


FLAG HISTORY: The GADSDEN FLAG was first used by the New Continental Fleet when ships first put to sea in February 1776. Flags with the symbol of the rattlesnake were very popular during this time. The flag was presented to the Continental Congress by Colonel Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina.
