History: The GADSDEN FLAG was first used by the New Continental Fleet when ships first put to sea in February 1776. Flags with the symbol of the rattlesnake were very popular during this time. The flag was presented to the Continental Congress by Colonel Christopher Gadsden of South Carolina.
Our Flag Color: Our Gadsden Flags are a golden color. Depending upon your computer, colors may appear differently. Many of the popular Gadsden Flags that you see are bright yellow. The color of our Gadsden Flag is slightly different. With historical flags, there is no official design or color as there is with the modern American Flag, State Flag, City Flag, etc. There was no specific design or central manufacturing in the 1700's. Before we produce historical flags, we consult with flag experts in the field of Vexillology.
